• Or other as approved by your instructor.  Faculty approval is only needed if you do not choose an organization from the list above.

Prepare a 1,050-1,400-word paper in which you address the following for your selected organization:

• Evaluate the planning function of management.
• Analyze the impact that legal issues, ethics, and corporate social responsibility have had on management planning at your chosen company. Give at least one example for each.
• Analyze at least three factors that influence the company's strategic, tactical, operational, and contingency planning.

Individual Assignment Organizational Structure Presentation

Prepare a 15- to 20-minute oral presentation (using PowerPoint Notes), accompanied by 10-15 Microsoft^®PowerPoint^® slides, in which you select an organization with which your Learning Team is familiar (not used in previous assignments), and present the following items as they relate to that organization:

Describe the organizational structure of your selected organization. Compare and contrast that structure with two different types of organizational structures.

Evaluate how organizational functions (e.g., marketing, finance, human resources, operations) influence and determine the organizational structure of your selected organization.

Explain how organizational design (e.g., geographic, functional, customer-based, product, service, hybrid, matrix, marketing channels, and departmentalization) help to determine which structure best suits your selected organization’s needs.

Format your presentation consistent with APA guidelines.

Be sure to cite at least three references (one must be the text) in your paper. Properly cite your references. If you used an electronic source, include the URL in the reference listing.

Select an organization with which you are familiar. Prepare a 1,750-2,100-word paper in which you address the following as it relates to that organization:
a. Differentiate between management and leadership.
b. Describe the roles and responsibilities that organizational managers and leaders play in creating and maintaining a healthy organizational culture.
c. Evaluate the impact of globalization and management across borders.
d. Recommend at least two strategies that organizational managers and leaders can use to create and maintain a healthy organizational culture. Support your recommendations with the concepts discussed in class and in the text, as well as your personal experiences.
